-live cd test run successful. Monitor resolution of 1680x1050 was recognised.

-1st attempt at partitioning failed...vista got corrupted. apparently the Dell Media Direct application, will messup the os if you add more than two partitions. :(

-have to figure out a workaround. before i can dual boot ubuntu.
